I saw the owner of a large marketing firm slam this ad on Facebook, and indeed it seems to be sort of a love-it-or-hate-it type of commercial. So I thought I would put it out here and see what you guys think about it.
This is the latest tourism ad from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, from the Airplane! guys:
(Here’s our story on the ad.) It’s funny, right? I think it is. Got a rave from Huffington Post for whatever that is worth.
I think the arguments against it are: a) lowbrow, b) sexist. Which, okay, fair enough. But if the goal is to grab the attention of the semi-zombified television watcher, I think it’s not necessary bad to beat them over the head a bit.
So I say kudos to Stephanie Klett and David Fantle and keep up the Lohan tweets. What say you?
