Oshkosh Farmers Market ranked 44th

Streetwise always knew the Oshkosh Farmers Market had the potential to be big. The Daily Meal apparently agrees.

The popular food and drink Web site ranked the Oshkosh Farmers Market 44th among the best 101 markets in the country. In fact, it was the only Wisconsin market to crack the list. Take that, Madison and Appleton!

The Daily Meal peeps liked the variety of produce and crafts our market has to offer and they didn’t even have to mention the delicious egg rolls, tacos and pie available as well.

The assessment was based on three main criteria: What’s available, when it’s open and something called “Street Credibility,” which notes the Oshkosh market has more than 1,500 “Likes” on Facebook and a four-star rating on Yelp.  It could be that the larger, more popular markets to the north and southwest didn’t get the same boost from social media as Oshkosh. Or it could just be they didn’t submit themselves for evaluation.

Regardless, Sconnie has a long way to go to catch up with some of its neighbors. The Twin Cities, friends noted to Streetwise, boasts six farmers markets in the top 101.
