Today Show features Oshkosh Senator Ron Johnson as fired J.C. Penney CEO

Apparently NBC’s Today Show thinks U.S. Senator Ron Johnson has been fired. Or, maybe they think he runs J.C. Penney.

The Today Show used the Republican Senator’s head shot while introducing a story about retailer J.C. Penney’s chief executive officer, who is also named Ron Johnson, being fired.

A screen shot from the program circulated on social media Tuesday morning showing Johnson, who is a harsh critic of mainstream media, above the title “CEO Ousted.”

The mix-up comes as the first-term Senator from Oshkosh plans to launch a series of online videos featuring people he says have been harmed by government intrusion or “red tape.”
