If former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., ran against Gov. Scott Walker, it would be a very close race, according to a new survey from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling.
However, his chances would be better in a rematch of his 2010 loss to Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis.
Feingold leads Walker 49-47, but the governor still holds a 46-48 percent lead over other potential challengers including State Rep. Peter Barca, State Sen. Jon Erpenbach and former U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen.
Against Johnson, Feingold shows a 52-42 lead. Johnson ousted Feingold in 2010 with a 52-47 victory.
