Oshkosh North principal accepts district administrative position

Andrew Jones, principal at Oshkosh North High School, will be the Oshkosh school district’s new executive director of administration, pending board approval.

Jones was hired as North’s principal in August 2011.  Prior to that, he was a middle school and high school principal in the New London School District.

Jones received his undergraduate degree in music from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and his master’s degree in educational leadership and his Ed.D. in leadership, learning and services at Cardinal Stritch University.

A news release from the district called Jones “instrumental” in leading innovations such as the Three-Core Intervention Program and Communities School at North.

The appointment is up for school board approval at its Jan. 30 meeting. Jones will replace Holly Rottier, whose resignation was approved by the board in November 2012. Rottier was hired as assistant superintendent in charge of learning services for the Kimberly School District.
