This afternoon, Oshkosh West High School posted a letter to its Facebook page. Administrators said the letter would be emailed home to parents and read to students at the end of their 7th Hour classes today.
According to the letter, earlier this week, some students overheard a conversation that led them to believe other students planned to bring weapons to school.
“Our schools take all threats seriously, and did a thorough investigation in collaboration with the Oshkosh Police Department,” the letter said. “Through this investigation we found no credible information that any student was going to do any harm to anyone at Oshkosh North or Oshkosh West High School on this Friday, December 21, 2012. ”
Police liaisons are on duty at both schools every day, the letter said.
