It’s getting to be that time of year where there’s a change of seasons when it comes to kids and their activities.
It’s a changing of the guard, so to speak. And a crossing off, which sometimes feels so good.
A week ago, Grace wrapped up her seven-month session of dance with four recitals. (She’s pictured here with Uncle Adam.)
The dance recital weekend is always a fantastic cap to all of her hard work for the season. Plus, it’s a time for her to show off, be with pals and have family and friends see her on the big stage.
I enjoy it, too, and I especially like the deep breath that comes on Sunday after all is said and done.
I’m grateful to have one less thing on the calendar. In the next couple weeks and month, other activities and responsibilities will be falling away, too.
Religion classes, which have been going on since September, will end in April along with indoor soccer for all three of them. Basketball wraps up after state in three weeks.
But the open calendar doesn’t stay open for long. Dance, religion, indoor soccer and basketball have replacements sitting on the sidelines getting ready for their chance to play.
We’ll be ready to schedule baseball and outdoor soccer in.
