Tomorrow is the first-ever Late Start Instructional Collaboration Day for the Appleton Area School District.
That means school will start two hours late. This monthly late start is supposed to provide collaboration time for teachers. I’m all for that, but I was hesitant about having school start after 10 a.m. one day a month.
I have a flexible job and have the option of taking them in late, but I know not everyone has that same luxury.
Thankfully, I also have a friend I’m sharing the late start responsibilities with so it might end up that I only have to stay home four or five times throughout the year.
Plus, it seems that this month’s late start is coming at just the right time. The kids could really use a morning to sleep in!
