Saying a sad goodbye to Christmas

The hustle and bustle that mid-November through December brings is morphing into the reality that Christmas and the most wonderful time of the year is nearly over.

Soon, our Christmas tree will be curbside, our house will seem bare and the peppermint mochas will be a happy, distant memory.

And we will be forced to come face to face with what we’ve been able to somewhat ignore up until now: winter.

Those cold-weather doldrums will sneak up on us soon enough, it seems, with no plans for spring break, no holiday approaching and no more excuses for ignoring minor household projects.

But … the days are starting to get lighter now, our weekends are full of basketball tournaments and we’ve at least got snow to play in and with.

And I’ll have plenty of time to wear all those cute scarves I got for Christmas.
