Have you heard that we are expecting a blizzard starting tonight and going through tomorrow?
I know, I know. You, too, are sick of hearing about it already. We live in Wisconsin. Snow is what we do.
But the first big one of the season is always a momentous occasion, especially when it comes before Dec. 25 and makes for a white Christmas. And the chance that the kids might not have school tomorrow adds to the buildup.
Can you feel the excitement?
The kids sure can. Grace already is talking about how she is going to wear her pajamas either inside out or backward to ensure the snow day. And she wants to flush ice cubes down the toilet to really seal the deal.
I, on the other hand, am not quite as pumped about it as they are. While I absolutely love snow, especially in December, I’m a little more realistic.
As someone who doesn’t own a snow blower — and doesn’t want to — I’m thinking about the hard physical work tomorrow certainly will bring.
I better start limbering up now.
