Morning update: what’s brewing Friday, Oct. 12

The election is now 25 days away.

Today, the campaigns are back focusing on Wisconsin, following last night’s vice presidential debate.

Vice President Joe Biden will be in La Crosse today, speaking at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse this afternoon.

And Monday morning, Paul Ryan will kick off the campaign week with an 8 a.m. town hall meeting in Waukesha.

Democrat Tammy Baldwin is making a western Wisconsin campaign swing today with Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota. They’ll be visiting Hudson, River Falls, and Spring Valley in advance of the Biden rally.

Campaign surrogates are also fanning across Wisconsin.

Today, the Democratic National Committee and Obama for America “Gotta Vote” Bus Tour is heading to the Milwaukee OFA office. The bus has been crossing the state in recent days with various Democratic candidates and officials. On board today: former Iowa Governor Chet Culver, DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse, State Senator Lena Taylor, Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie and actor Hill Harper.

Also today, Oakleigh Ryan, Paul Ryan’s sister-in-law and Ohio Lt. Governor Mary Taylor will hold a Moms Drive The Economy Luncheon at the Hilton Milwaukee River Hotel.
