Skate park design meeting tonight

A new skate park will be built at Appleton’s Telulah Park in 2014 and the city is soliciting public input this week on its design.skatepark

A meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Franklin Elementary School, 2212 N. Jarchow St.

The city budgeted $35,000 for the park’s design and will contribute $225,000 to its construction. Additional funds are being raised by a private group — Friends of Appleton Skate Park.

The group is particularly looking for input on the park’s design from active skaters and bikers.

California-based Action Sport Design was hired last month to do the design work.
