Through October, ridership on Valley Transit buses was up 3.2 percent, the organization reported this week.
Voelzke attributed the positive numbers to improving job growth in the Fox Valley and intermittent gas prices this year.
“It’s great to see our riders getting back to work, and utilizing the service for daily errands and medical appointments,” Voelzke said. “We’re part of a national trend in mass transit this year that saw rising numbers.”
From January through October, total revenue dipped to $689,000, down $14,000 from 2011 due to decreased prepaid revenue.
