Appleton unveils skate park plans tonight

The city’s parks department will unveil design plans Wednesday night for a new skate park to be built at Telulah Park in 2014.

Last year, the city approved $35,000 for the skate park concept plan, which was designed by California-based ASD/Santec.

Dean Gazza, director of the department, said the skate park will be built in the center of Telulah Park between the trees and the baseball diamond.

Funding for the $255,000 park still needs to be approved in the 2014 city budget to allow construction to begin in spring 2014.

The initial concept design has space for a swimming-pool-style bowl, rails and ledges for skaters.
