The city set a deadline of 7 a.m. Tuesday to clear snow and ice on sidewalks this week.
The heavy, wet snow stopped falling around 7 p.m. Sunday.
Residents who fail to clear public sidewalks face a $75 fine, plus $0.40 per foot after the first 100 feet.
Appleton contracts with a contractor that takes “before” and “after” pictures to prove their work.
Complaints about sidewalks can be filed with the city’s Public Works Department at 832-6474.
