Appleton hires Saucerman as city’s new finance director

The city promoted its deputy finance director Wednesday to lead the department after a nationwide search.cityhall

Tony Saucerman was appointed by Mayor Tim Hanna and confirmed unanimously by the council. He has served as the interim director since longtime director Lisa Remiker resigned in December.

Saucerman has served as the city’s deputy finance director since 1998. He previously worked as the controller for Outagamie County.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is a certified public accountant.

“Tony brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position,” Hanna said.

Saucerman will be paid an annual salary of $113,131.
