NEW World Cinema to show Ang Lee film “Eat Drink Man Woman” on Monday

A community showing of the Ang Lee film “Eat Drink Man Woman” is NEW World Cinema’s featured film for the month of November.

It plays at 7 p.m. Monday in Lecture Hall 1338 at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, 1478 Midway Road, Menasha. Admission is $5.

NEW World Cinema is an ongoing foreign film series that the Fox Cities Rotary Multicultural Center runs.

The 1994 comedy/drama from Taiwan, which also played Sunday at UWFV, is not rated. It is subtitled in English. A facilitated discussion follows the film showing.

The film tells the story of a senior master chef who lives in Taipei with his three unmarried daughters. Life at home revolves around the family’s tradition of an elaborate Sunday meal each week, and the love lives of the family members.
