The nature and landscape oil paintings of Milwaukee artist Ann Powell will be on view for the month of April at the Hang Up Gallery of Fine Art in Neenah.
The opening reception for “Vanishing Landscapes” runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday. The free and public event includes refreshments.
Powell, who paints in oil on a variety of surfaces, uses multiple layers of oil glaze to create a luminous surface.
“I am excited and inspired by the changing seasons, approaching storms, lifting fog, wet earth and the fleeting moments of twilight,” Powell said in an artist’s statement.
The gallery at 204 W. Wisconsin Ave. is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
