Fox Valley Symphony schedules youth concerts for Nov. 17 and 18

The Fox Valley Symphony Youth Orchestras Program has scheduled two fall concerts that both take place at Lawrence University in downtown Appleton.

Tickets go on sale today for the concert that Philharmonia performs in collaboration with Lawrence’s Academy String Orchestra (ASTRO) at 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Lawrence Memorial Chapel. The concert showcases youth musicians in grades four through nine who have auditioned for the ensembles.

General admission tickets cost $8. They’re available at Lawrence’s box office in the campus’ Music-Drama Center from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. or by calling 920-832-6749.

The Youth and Concert Orchestras concert starts at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18, also at the Lawrence Memorial Chapel.

Students in these ensembles also audition to earn placement.

Tickets for the concert are available now. General admission seating costs $10 for adults and $6 for students. Family four-packs (two adults, two children) are available for $28.

Tickets are available at the Fox Valley Symphony office and at Heid Music in downtown Appleton. They also will be available in the lobby one hour before the concert.

Fox Valley Symphony Youth Orchestras Program auditions will take place in December. For more information, or to inquire about auditions, call Melissa Gurholt at 920-968-0300, ext. 24.
