Who likes a little rock and roll with their symphony?
Wisconsin band Vic Ferrari certainly does. The usual seven-piece cover outfit will add a 20-plus-member orchestra to its performances come late January for its Symphony on the Rocks shows at Waverly Beach in Menasha.
The ususal winter favorite hosts Vic Ferrari and company playing unusual cover songs such as “Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd and “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin, while the band has also promised new arrangments of “Love Reign O’er Me” by The Who, “Dream On” by Aerosmith and “Urgent” by Foreigner.
Tuning into a technological world, this year’s symphony will also be using iPads instead of music stands. This year’s symphony will also be more visible to the audience than past years.
Tickets for the three shows (January 23-25) are available at Waverly Beach in Menasha (920-733-9721). Prices range from $25 (+tax) for general seating to $35 (+tax) for reserved seating.
Bonus: Vic Ferrari will also perform Symphony on the Rocks at Meyer Theatre in Green Bay on March 8.
