Lawrence University Symphony Orchestra concert, 8 p.m., Lawrence Memorial Chapel, 510 E. College Ave., Appleton. The orchestra will perform Gustav Mahler’s song cycle “Songs of a Wayfarer,” Johannes Brahms’s “Academic Festival Overture” and Dutch avant-garde composer Jacob ter Veldhuis’s “Tallahatchie Concerto.” The concert also includes works by two current Lawrence students and one alumnus and features the orchestra’s concerto competition winners as guest soloists. Free and open to the public.
