Hear it: Cory Chisel featured on Rosanne Cash’s ‘The River & The Thread’

In the fall, Fox Valley-raised singer-songwriter Cory Chisel told Post-Crescent Media that he’d helped out with the recording of Rosanne Cash’s new album.

The work, titled “The River & The Thread,” arrives on Jan. 14 ¬†on Blue Note Records and is available to stream in full over at NPR Music. Keep an ear out for Chisel’s appearance on vocals for the track “50,000 Watts.”

“’50,000 Watts’ is gospel with a spirited vocal by the young vagabond Cory Chisel,” writes NRP Music’s Ann Powers on the First Listen page of the Fox Valley’s Wandering Son.

Among other guests on the record are Rodney Crowell, Kris Kristofferson and John Prine. Cash, the daughter of the great Johnny Cash, was once married to Crowell.
