Favorite music videos of 2012

When I was a kid, I could turn on MTV and watch music videos ’til the sun came up. I’m not a kid anymore and I can no longer watch a music video on MTV. This is life.

Although it’s not quite as easy to come upon a music video that really grabs me, I still attempt to make the YouTube rounds and see what’s out there. Usually it takes a bit of Twitter buzz or a suggestion from a friend for something to get in front of me. These are the ones that found there way to my screen and stayed in my mind days, weeks or months later.

I’m sure there were a lot of other great videos produced in 2012. Maybe if MTV was still around handing them to me one after another, I’d have a more well-rounded selection.

Jack White, “Sixteen Saltines”

Norah Jones, “Miriam”

Father John Misty, “Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings”

Sleigh Bells, “Comeback Kid”

St. Vincent, “Cheerleader”

How to Destroy Angels, “Ice Age”
